Stuff Rich People Do: 10 Things You're Probably Not Doing Right Now

Rich people and regular people do things differently. I had the grand epiphany that if we could find out what Richie Rich does on a regular basis, then all we would have to do is copy him and be rich right? I dunno. Let’s find out.
The following is stuff rich people do:

1. Rich people want to be rich.

I know. Thanks for the late breaking news, Captain Obvious. But often it’s the most obvious answers that are the answer. I’m thinking of all five regular friends of mine right now (I have a 5-regular-friend limit). None of them want to be rich. They may say they do. But they don’t really. Read “Do These 6 Things—If You Want to Be Poor” to see if you’re regular and just don’t know it.
Here’s a quote that should encourage you:
“Nearly all rich and powerful people are not notably talented, educated, charming or good looking. They become rich and powerful simply by wanting to be rich and powerful.” – Paul Arden, advertising exec and author

2. Rich people hang out with other rich people.

They usually start doing this before they ever get rich. Have you ever seen the person you’re hanging out with yawn, and it makes you yawn? Well when you see the person you’re hanging out with make a million dollars, it makes you make a million dollars. True story.

3. Rich people stalk down many many mentors and suck their brains dry like knowledge vampires.

Let’s take me for example because I am super rich. :) I have multiple mentors for all the key areas in life that, when combined, equal sustainable holistic richness. And not just any mentors mind you—THE BEST. After all, if you’re not first you’re last, right? I cannot believe there is actually a self-help guru who says this with a straight face and means it. Stuff like that makes me pretty confident I’m going to end up being a trillionaire.
I have a business mentor. He’s a billionaire. His family invented the shopping mall.
I have a nutritional mentor. He has five Ph.D.’s in biochemistry, neurobiology, nutrigenomics, human nutrition (as opposed to monkey nutrition?) and something else no regular person would ever even think of having. He makes Dr. Oz look like… Dr. Oz.
I have a physical fitness mentor. He lives in NYC and trains strictly superstar pro athletes. I originally had to wear a Derek Jeter mask to get in with him. By the time he figured out I wasn’t the real Jeter I had already won him over with all my best CrossFit knock-knock jokes. They’re really good.
I have a spiritual mentor I meet with once a week at my house to ask all the hardest questions anyone has ever asked him ever. He pastors an awesome church, has a doctorate in theology from the top seminary in America and got four books published. He is possibly the wisest man alive.
I have a psychological mentor—otherwise known as a shrink. He is the most insightful human being I’ve encountered to date. He thinks I’m there for inner healing. I’m actually there to see how he mind-twirks me so I can do it to other people.
I have a singing mentor so I can sing better in the shower and be prepared for when The Voice calls me. This is not a lie. I really have this.
And on. And on. And on.
There is no need to reinvent the wheel. Simply track down the wheel inventor and then just ask him how he came up with that idea. I mean… that was one heck of an idea, man. For real.

4. Rich people teach other people stuff rich people do.

What new thing did you learn today? Nothing? You suck. Take out a piece of paper, write today’s date on it and light it on fire. That is symbolic of what you just did with your day. You know you only get about 29,000 days, right? Then you die. Think about that. 28,999 … 28,998 …
Maybe don’t put the fire out and just let it burn your whole life to the ground. Because if you keep doing what you did today too many more times that’s what going to happen.
Always be learning. And always be teaching other people what you just learned. It will both help you remember it better and make other people think you know things. Everything in this article? I just learned today. I am going to take out a piece of paper, write down today’s date, pour champagne and do a victory dance all over it.

5. Rich people connect rich people with other rich people.

I’m constantly telling winners about other winners. I just figure if someone is winning and they just helped me win something, they should be rewarded with free advertising from my mouth. This builds your goodwill account with lots of rich people. What comes around goes around. You do this often enough, and the whole world will love you and use their good will to make you rich.

6. Rich people work like their lives depend on it.

Their lives do actually depend on it, of course. So this just makes rich people rational people. How many hours do you work every day? Double it. Or stop complaining.

7. Rich people do what they’re good at.

What are you unusually good at? Get 100 times more good at it and then reveal yourself to the world. Don’t forget to charge money for it.

8. Rich people do not work for what they would do for free because they love it so much.

That is literally the dumbest thing rich people have ever heard.
If rich people had all the money they wanted and could do anything they wanted with their time, they would lay on the freaking beach and have a Mai Tai with an umbrella in it just like every other human being on planet earth. This is true of rock stars, movie stars and possibly, but not definitely, even porn stars. You could say it’s not true of Donald Trump, but I promise you if money was not involved, he would not be trading real estate.
Work, no matter what type of work, is a grind. Forget doing what you love. Do what you’re great at.

9. Rich people save their money.

I used to not believe this. I made such an obscene amount of money at one point that I literally just thought I could make it infinitely. Then I stopped making it for some normal cyclical reason that shouldn’t have been surprising but was. That’s when I realized you have to save it. SAVE YOUR MONEY.

10. Rich people finish every single thing they start. Especially my articles.

Regular people start things and rarely finish. Rich people would rather bungee jump off a bridge with the bungee cord tied to a baby rabbit that’s not tied to anything than not finish something. I could be reading the worst book on earth, and I simply cannot bring myself to not finish it just because that’s how much I hate not finishing things. Start it? FINISH IT. Or just don’t start it at all.

Follow these simple tips and you could save a lot of money on your flights

Fancy a trip to the Maldives? Try flying on a Wednesday!
Following these simple tips could save you a lot of money when you’re trying to get away from it all.
The price of flights varies considerably depending on the month, day and even time of travel.
                            Source: http://www.fourcommunications.com/
So if you’re clever about when you buy you could be flying for a lot less money.

1. Book 53 days ahead

Booking flights 53 days before flying can save up to 26 per cent of holiday travel costs, according to research carried out by travel comparison site Momondo.
As well as the date that you book your flight, flying on a specific day and between certain hours can also help cut costs.
Avoiding the weekends can make a huge impact on the price of flights. Changing your travel to a Wednesday to Wednesday rather than a Friday to Friday can make a huge difference and help keep costs down.

2. Choose your day

The cheapest days to fly are Tuesday and Wednesday, while the most expensive is Saturday. Those flying on Saturday can pay up to 11.5% more for their flights.

3. Choose your time

Flying at different times could be a cheaper option

According to Momondo, flights that depart between 6pm and 12am are cheapest.
Peak hours are the more convenient hours, which depart between 10am and 3pm - that can add another 6% to flight cost.

4. Think about the time of year

Other factors that push up flight prices are flying during peak months, which are June, July and August.
So if you can avoid it, don’t head to Australia for Christmas or to Spain just as school summer holidays begin.
According to SkySkanner travelling off-season is the best way to find better bargains. Much of Europe still has beautiful weather come September, but with kids back at school, flights will be cheaper and your destination a lot less crowded.

5. Fly with different airlines

You can also save money by flying out and back with different airlines or from different airports, because sometimes two single flights can be cheaper than a return.
SkyScanner also say that even though there may be an airport on your doorstep, don’t rule out the possibility that it may be cheaper to fly from one slightly further away. It may work out cheaper, even with the cost of a train or bus ticket to reach the alternative airport.
Follow these tips and you could save a small fortune on your flights

6. Use your smartphone

In the era of technology and gadgets, your smart phone can also be a handy money-saving travel buddy. There are apps on the market for everything including travel guides, maps and phrasebooks.
Download these and you’ll save not only a wad of cash on paper and travel books but also a lot of space in your case meaning less chance of excess baggage charges.
Here are some of the best apps to find the best flights:
Evernote: Syncs between devices providing you with one place to store email and hotel confirmations, reviews, packing lists and important documents.
TripAdvisor: A travel company providing reviews of travel-related content and interactive travel forums.
Google Translate: Does what it says on the tin.
TripIt: Organises your travel plans into an itinerary so all your trip details are in one place.
Skyscanner: This free app is one of the best free travel apps to search and book cheap flights on the go.
Trip Tracker: A very simple tool but great for frequent travellers. All your flight, hotel and car hire information ‘automagically’ pushed to your iPhone without having to enter it manually. It also alerts you to your gate number, any delays, cancellations.

THE 5 CORE CHARACTERISTICS OF GREAT ENTREPRENEURS

I’ve worked with and mentored a lot of entrepreneurs over the years. And whilst we all love to analyse the theories and strategies that we can learn from others to make things work better in your business as for an entrepreneur, we often forget that there are also character traits that we could look to develop as well. You can read all the books in the world, but theories are useless unless you learn to adopt some of these characteristics:
                                Source: http://www.shaa.com/entrepreneur-characteristics/

Consistent boldness

Most entrepreneurs are naturally a little ballsy, but it’s not enough just to come up with a great idea or to start a business — you have to be consistently bold enough to stand by your idea, to keep pushing forward even when it seems like you’re making a monumental waste of effort, and when everyone around you just doesn’t see a happy ending. You also need to be bold enough to realise when you are stuck on a dead end road and it’s time to do something different.
You also have to be bold in putting yourself out there. Many people avoid doing this because they don’t want to feel sleazy or like they’re hard selling people, but unless you can get over this, nobody’s going to know about you or care about you.
Finally, you have to be bold in asking for what you want. Of course it’s totally terrifying to ask someone for something that you really want, but you will be amazed by how often people actually do help if you tell them how and if you ask the right way. For instance, Seth Godin had no idea who I was when I emailed him asking him for a testimonial for my book. But because I was bold enough to put myself out there and because I wrote to him in a way that appealed to him, I was able to get an incredibly valuable endorsement. A good sense of humour always helps too!

Speed

I know I’m surprising absolutely no one when I say that things move fast as an entrepreneur. To be a great entrepreneur, you’ve got to be able to work fast and still keep the quality of your output high.
That’s not to say that you can’t do great things if you like to think or act more slowly — but if you are like that, then you’ll probably need to get a partner or a group that will balance you out and force you to act. Otherwise you’ll likely stagnate.

Flexibility

A lot of people mix up being flexible with being flighty. I’m not saying that you should just dabble in things or totally scrap a project at the first sign of trouble. You need to be focused and unshakeable on your big goals, but in parallel with that, you have to be able to be flexible with how things unfold day to day.
Being too rigid will cause you to lose a ton of opportunities that come up along the way, because you will be too focused on following your planned steps instead of recognizing opportunities that could get you to your end goal even better. So learn to pivot, and be flexible when you need to.

Perspective

Having a sense of perspective is absolutely critical, because working as an entrepreneur usually feels a little crazy and because you’re going to fail hideously at least once. If you get so wrapped up in what you’re doing that you can’t take a step back, see the humor in situations, or dispassionately look at your failures to see what you can learn from them, then this probably isn’t the path for you.

Resilience

Finally, you’ve absolutely got to be resilient, certainly in the face of failure, but also just in terms of daily life as an entrepreneur. It can be really hard when you’re working for yourself — people don’t really get what you do every day and sometimes they might even think you’re just ‘messing about’. Resilience is what keeps you going, both when you get hit with a big failure or just the everyday crisis, so it’s essential that you learn how to bounce back.

The Money Mindset: How You're Sabotaging Your Start-Up

Ever stopped for a moment to determine your money mindset? If yes, what is it (without any airy fairy stuff) and how can it help or hinder start up success? Are you already into making big purchases just like me? Regardless of whether it's a new condo, a new car or even a really expensive pedigree cat, all these just seem to be dancing to the same tune - "but do I really need to spend all this money?"
                                          Source: http://www.bloomberg.com/
What is it?
The first time you hear the words - money mindset - you'll be tempted to assume that it's one of those things that other people do to convince themselves that they'll become successful if they depend on the universe to support them... This sounded too far-fetched for my liking and it wasn't long before I realized that it was less about chanting and more about setting SMART goals, releasing the fears that come with attaining success.
Quite simply, working on your money mindset is basically about analyzing the beliefs that surround your finances; understanding your core beliefs around money, where they come from and setting up ground to challenge your own thoughts to help create a positive mindset that invites success into your business.
What can I do to fix it?
Developing a positive relationship with your finances is all about understanding your own fears and how they relate to money. Some of the most common beliefs that most people have to deal with include "Success has always been difficult to attain", "I have to work extremely hard to attain success" or "only thin, pretty women get successful." Begin by understanding the source of these beliefs to help pave way for challenging them.
Create post-It notes and stick them on the fridge, your computer screen or even the mirror. All of these should say things such as, "I attain my success by offering a valuable service to my client," "My client has more than enough money to pay me" and my all-time favorite, "There is room for improvement." Beliefs and not your skills are keeping you from attaining the so-desired success. Those same beliefs will keep your business from growing. These are the same beliefs that will encourage you to skip precious sales conversions, are responsible for your nervousness about charging the right price for a particular service and will still set you up to fail; if you don't believe in the value of what you offer.
Tips to Help You Deal With Your Money Mindset:
If you are in the process of improving or re-creating your money mindset, there are some tips you'll need to keep in mind:
Take your time to fully assess your finances and financial capabilities let alone your beliefs around money and how the two relate. Are you a natural worrier? Do your emotions change with fluctuations in your finances? Where did you learn this behavior and how can you overcome it?

Lastly, be kind to yourself. In spite of all the hype, fixing your money mindset doesn't happen overnight. If you're deep in debt, start by creating a repayment plan that helps you focus on your goals. If you're scared of setting up your own start-up because it might take long to recover the money, go out and promote yourself and begin generating revenue. If you need more support, consider speaking to a Business Coach to help you work past your financial blocks and help you put an end to sabotaging your own business before it even takes off.

How to Attract Abundance Into Our Lives

We all wish to attract an abundance of some sort into our lives. Some of us wish for money or success. Whilst others may wish for an abundance of love and loving. We all inherently know, what we wish to have in abundance. It is essential that we remain true to ourselves, and aim at receiving an abundance of what it is that our heart desires.
                                          Source: http://www.shannonpeck.com/
Below, I have listed 24 tips that can help us bring abundance into our lives. Apart from all of them helping to attract abundance, they are all positive tips, that we should aim at using in our lives on an ongoing basis. The more we live by these rules, and spread them the better the society will be that we live in.
The word abundance means, a very large portion of something. In other words once we have achieved an abundance of something, we will have enough to spread it around with others. Nature surrounds us daily with abundance. We only have to look up at the sky to realise the extent of this. And, if we keep our eyes open, we will be blessed with an abundance of flowers, trees, and animals right in front of us.
1) Think positively.4
2) Use affirmations.
3) Be of service to others.
4) Know what it is, that you want in abundance.
5) Give away what no longer serves you.
6) Have a purpose.
7) Trust the universe.
8) See the world as abundant.
9) Pray.
10) Speak positively.
11) See yourself as abundant.
12) Visualise (vision boards are brilliant).
13) Learn to receive.
14) Meditate.
15) Stay healthy.
16) Give to others.
17) Believe in yourself.
18) Surrender.
19) Be grateful (start a gratitude journal).
20) Set your intentions.
21) Appreciate what you have.
22) Practice selfcare.
23) Be mindful.
24) Perform random acts of kindness.

I personally aim at living a healthy, happy and balanced lifestyle, and as much as I would love an abundance of everything, I am content to have a healthy dose of what makes me happy and content.
But, to be honest, I could do with an abundance of the following, and any excess, I would be happy to spread around.
- To love and be loved. I am at my happiest, when I am surrounded by my special family and friends.
- Health. The older I have got, the more I value living a healthy life
- Money. There is no doubt about it, that if we have enough money it does make life easier.
